OpenLimiter 0.1.0, and what it deliberately does not do
The first release reads the quota of six AI coding subscriptions locally and hands your agent a bounded budget block. Here is what ships, what does not, and why the line is drawn where it is.
When you hold several AI coding subscriptions at once, the scarce resource stops being money and becomes quota. You have already paid. The question at four in the afternoon is which of the windows you paid for still has room in it, and the honest answer today is that nobody knows, including the agent burning through one of them.
OpenLimiter 0.1.0 is the smallest useful answer to that. It reads what your machine already knows about your quota, keeps the numbers bounded, and hands your coding agent a block it can act on. Everything happens on your computer. There is no OpenLimiter server, no account, and no telemetry of any kind.
What ships
- Six read only connectors: Claude through the statusline payload Claude Code already produces, OpenRouter through its documented credits shape, Codex and Antigravity through internal shapes, OpenCode through a session you already opened, and manual entry for anything without a connector.
- A command line tool with eight commands: init, snapshot, statusline, hook, doctor, demo, export and ingest.
- A Claude Code adapter: a compact statusline and a prompt hook that injects bounded budget state and routing advice.
- One hundred tests, running on Windows and Linux on every push.
The hook is the part that matters most and the part that had to be most careful. A block injected into a prompt is an injection surface, so this one carries enum codes, bounded percentages and timestamps only, and it declares itself as untrusted data in its own opening tag.

</openlimiter_untrusted_data>Provider text never crosses that line. Labels, messages, account names, markup and unknown fields are discarded by the parsers before anything reaches policy code, so there is no path by which a provider's prose becomes an instruction to your agent.
What it deliberately does not do
It does not route your requests. There is no automatic switching, no bypassing a limit, and no touching how your agent authenticates. OpenLimiter produces advice and the decision stays with you. That is a design choice, not a missing feature, and it is not on the roadmap either.
It also does not pretend to be finished. Three of the six connectors read shapes that are internal to somebody else's tooling and can change without notice. Every connector in this release ships marked UNVERIFIED, which is the honest label: no explicit verifier has confirmed a shape against a live account yet.
When one of those shapes does change, parsing fails closed. That provider returns to unknown, the others are unaffected, and nothing invents a number to fill the gap. Unknown never becomes zero, and it never becomes exhausted.
What ships, what does not, and said so on the page
The command line tool, the web app and a Windows build of the desktop tray application exist and can be used today. The desktop application has no macOS or Linux package yet, there is no npm release, and the iOS and Android applications are not built, are in no store, and have no waiting list. Every button on this site leads to the thing it names, or to the download page where each row says plainly which state it is in.
Everything that runs locally is free and always will be. The only thing that would ever cost money is a hosted service, because servers cost money to run, and no local feature has been withheld to create one.
Where to start
It is not on npm yet, so today it runs from a clone. Build the workspace, run the demo against the bundled fixtures, and look at what comes out before you point it at anything real. The demo touches no cache and no network.
